Contributing to the Institute's Journal

Bi-yearly, the Institute for a Greater Europe opens submissions for its policy and research journal, published online and across its chapters all over Europe.

Theme and Structure

The Theme of the Journal is based broadly on the concept and discussion of Greater Europe, and what that means to different people. It also related to Europe's wider place in the world, it's neighbourhood policy and wider ideas of European integration.

We split the Journal into five geographic regions, the regions of Greater Europe, and we will be using them to sort and categorize articles, so make sure there is one clear area we can put your submission under.

  • Western Europe and Atlantic

  • Central and Southern Europe

  • Eastern Europe and Russia

  • Eurasia

  • Middle East and North Africa

Types of Publications

We publish two types of articles in our Journal, Research Pieces and Policy Reviews

Policy Reviews:

  • The piece should identify and analyse the goals of a policy; and gauge how to improve a policy or the method of realising its goals through reviewing and analysing the topic in detail

  • The Policy Reviews must be 2,400 and 2,800 words, discounting references and bibliography

  • Harvard referencing style should be used in the document, with a bibliography at the end relating to embedded references within the piece

Research Pieces:

  • These are interdisciplinary pieces dealing with various considerations on a single topic

  • Research Pieces must be between 2,000 and 2,400 words, not including references or bibliography

  • Harvard referencing style should be used in the document, with a bibliography at the end relating to embedded references within the piece
