Call for Articles

The word “culture” allows us to identify, analyze and interpret the world around us. 

The term culture in modern societies is distorted into two patterns. One pattern establishes the self-consciousness of society and is termed high culture, and the other is the human fallibility of what society should be and is termed popular culture. High culture includes works of art, opera, literature, philosophy, and scholarship. In the absence of high culture superseded by popular culture, this pattern becomes a more accessible means of entertainment and includes soap operas, music, anime, and comedies. The need remains to find a balance between this disorganized equilibrium defining our societies today. 

The reason and analysis that makes us choose one culture over another.

Guidelines

• We welcome commentaries and opinion pieces that can explore high culture and popular culture within and outside Europe
• Articles need to be between 1000-1200 words 
• We welcome both euro-centric and outer euro-based articles
• Pieces need to be sourced from respected sources, and the information entered needs to be factually correct. 
• The arguments should be coherent and logical 
• IGE: Europe Beyond follows APA 7 as the citation style
• Alongside your piece, please submit an author’s bio of no less than 150 words and a headshot

• Co-authoring is allowed for up to 2 authors
