Join the Institute for a Greater Europe for our second event of the year revolving around the topic of how the EU can act more quickly and decisively to protect European values and interests and promote international peace and security. With ever changing dynamics within and around Europe, European security is becoming an increasingly important subject. 

In this event, we have invited Jolyon Howorth and Alviina Alametsä to explore the concept of strategic autonomy, its relation to European defense and hence the forthcoming Strategic Compass. Jolyon Howorth is the Jean Monnet Professor ad personam and Professor Emeritus of European Politics at the University of Bath (UK). Alviina Alametsä is a MEP for the Green Group and member of the Subcommittee on Security and Defense.
