Dr. Jasna Jelisić – Head of the Western Balkans Task Force at the EEAS Jasna Jelisić is Head of the Western Balkans Task Force in the Strategic Communication Division of the European External Action Service in Brussels. Working for the EU since 2006, she has had a wide range of responsibilities dealing with numerous complex issues related to the implementation of EU policies in the Western Balkans. During 2015/16, she also contributed to the development of the EU’s Global Strategy, arguing for the positioning of public diplomacy as one of the key pillars of EU external action.
Maria Alexandra Martin - Associate Fellow, Centre for Global Europe, GLOBSEC Alexandra Martin is the former Head of the GLOBSEC Brussels Office, a position she assumed in January 2020 and held until the end of March 2021. Together with her team, she covers issues related to the European Union, security and defence, technology and sustainability. She joined GLOBSEC in May 2018 as Strategic Forums Director, overseeing all GLOBSEC efforts related to the major convenings: GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, Tatra Summit and Chateau Bela. She has a Masters in Conflict Management and Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies | SAIS, where she concentrated in conflict negotiations and post-conflict reconstruction. Currently Alexandra is. Doctoral Candidate and Junior Lecturer at the VU Amsterdam.
Dr. Linde Desmaele - Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Senior Associate Researcher at the CSDS at the BSoG-VUB Linde Desmaele is a Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow in the MIT Security Studies Program. Her research interests include US-Europe relations; the evolution of US grand strategy and its impact on transatlantic and European security; US regional deterrence strategies and alliance interdependence; and the role of leaders in IR theory. Her work has been published in journals such as European Security, International Studies Review, Strategic Studies Quarterly and Defence Studies. Linde is also a Senior Associate Researcher at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium).
Ms. Martyna Hanak - Editor at the IGE, Moderator Martyna is a Masters Law Student at the University of Groningen. Originally from Poland, she spent the past few years in Scotland and Belgium. Her interest in international affairs blossomed after an internship at the American Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. Her main areas of expertise include environmental and energy policies as well as UK politics at large
